Short term crisis care
|
In 2006, we helped 365,900 people to regain their confidence after a personal crisis through our independent living and community equipment services, making a difference to the quality of their daily lives.
More than 44,330 refugees and asylum seekers – 34,100 of whom were destitute – received emergency assistance and other help from us.
Overseas, we supported 20 health and care programmes with funding or technical support.
In particular, we supported nine HIV programmes, reaching thousands of young people with our prevention work and hundreds of communities with our community-based care work.
