We are delighted to present an ‘Evening with the British Red Cross’ with special guest, Angela Rippon CBE (subject to filming commitments) together with Dr Alasdair Brooks, and Stephen Tongue.

Angela Rippon will share her experiences as vice president of the Red Cross and her career within the broadcasting sector. Angela has been a familiar face and voice of British radio and television broadcasting for over 40 years and became the first female journalist newsreader in 1975.  Angela was awarded an OBE in 2004 for services to charity and the arts and a CBE in 2017 for services to dementia care.

Dr Alasdair Brooks is the British Red Cross heritage manager, responsible for museum and archive collections. He is currently  planning  the 150th Anniversary of the British Red Cross in 2020. Alasdair will reflect on the 100th anniversary of the end of WWI and the British Red Cross' role during and after the fighting.

Stephen Tongue is the UK head of community fundraising at the British Red Cross, and has worked on many large-scale fundraising appeals in partnership with donors and supporters.
