Complete 10k and help fund vital emergency aid
In an emergency, every second counts and so does your support.
Right now, Red Cross teams are helping people affected by natural disasters. If you’re following the news and wondering how you can help, this is your opportunity to do something.
Join our virtual 10k event and raise vital funds for people who have lost everything.
The faster we respond, the more lives we can save.
How it works
Set up your JustGiving fundraising page through our online campaign and ask your friends, family and followers to sponsor you.
Decide your 10k route – you’ll have 24 hours to complete the distance.
Help those affected by natural disasters by completing your sponsored run, walk, swim or by moving in any way that suits you – your support will fund our urgent work.
What to do next
It only takes a minute to sign up and you can get your fundraising page ready for the big day.
Stay up to date with the latest information by checking our JustGiving event hub. We’ll provide updates here as well as details about the event.
Help us be here for humanity
We know that when disaster hits the headlines, it can be hard to know how to help. But together we can be there for people when the worst happens. Together, we are the world's emergency responders.
Advice for taking part in Race to Respond in hot weather
If the weather’s hot, please think about how much exercise you should be doing. You can always take part in a different way, for instance covering the same distance over several days instead of one. Or switch to an indoor activity based somewhere with air conditioning, if possible.
Be careful of your limits and consult a qualified medical practitioner if you’re not sure.
General advice for exercise during high temperatures:
- Don’t do too much during the hottest parts of the day.
- Stay hydrated by taking water with you and consider rehydration salts or sachets.
- Avoid surfaces like tarmac that get very hot and look for shady areas where possible.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen, and reduce intensity of activities to avoid overexertion.
