Terms and conditions

1. By entering the promotion, entrants confirm that they have read and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and all rules and guidelines applicable to the use of Instagram including the rules located at https://help.instagram.com/179379842258600.

2. The Promoter of this prize draw is the British Red Cross Society (incorporated by Royal Charter 1908 and a registered charity in England and Wales (220949), Scotland (SC037738) and Isle of Man (0752) at UK Office, 44 Moorfields, London, EC2Y 9AL (the “Promoter”).

3. The Promoter is offering those who enter this promotion a chance to win the following:

  • Be featured in the British Red Cross I have the Power artist collection which is made up of 9 professional artist designs as part of our Winter campaign to raise much needed funds.
  • We are launching a competition to the public to submit their own artwork to become the 10th artist in the range.

The winning design will be listed on the British Red Cross’s retail shop at https://.giftshop.redcross.org.uk/power; where it will be sold as prints and could be printed onto the below products:

  • Posters
  • Tea towel
  • Tote bag
  • Postcard
  • Prints
  • T-shirt
  • Notebook
  • Mug
  • Sweatshirt
  • Water bottle
  • Juco bags
  • Jigsaws

We shall feature the winning design on a range of products for a limited period (subject to Promoters terms and conditions) and gift you the full collection of products bearing your winning design. Your winning design will be promoted on the Promoters website.

4. The winner will grant a worldwide, irrevocable, exclusive licence to The British Red Cross to use the winner’s illustration in any form (including any adaptation or alteration at The British Red Cross’ discretion) on the above listed Products for the purpose of the manufacture, sale, advertising, promotion and distribution of the Products via the Promoter’s online ecommerce sites including but not limited to: https://giftshop.redcross.org.uk/pages/powerhttps://www.amazon.co.uk/stores/page/2E85FACF-7C02-4258-B140-CBD5AFF425BB or such other sites as may be agreed between us and notified to you for the period of 3 (three) years from the date of first publication.

5. To enter this prize draw, entrants must post a design featuring the message ‘I have the power’ in their individual style to Instagram, tagging the British Red Cross and using the hashtag #PowerOfKindness. The design must be on a medium that can be scanned or photographed such as digital, painting, drawing and only 2D pieces will be accepted. You warrant that the artwork submitted to the Promoter for this draw is original derivative works created by you and must not be copied from any third-party materials or sources. The British Red Cross reserves the right to withdraw any artwork by entrants that fails to meet the entry requirements. All entries will be submitted online, if materials are requested offline by the Promoter for any reason, Promoter will be unable to return the materials back to the entrant.

6. Entrants must be UK or Ireland residents and the competition is open to anyone. If you are not a UK resident, you will not be able to enter.

7. It is free to enter, and you can enter as many times as you would like but each entry must to be uploaded as a separate image and upload. Multiple images in one upload will not be accepted.

8. Entries may be submitted on behalf of minors (under 18’s) by a guardian or representative that has an authorised Instagram account as a joint submission. Incomplete, illegible, misdirected or late entries will not be accepted. Entries after the promotion has closed will not be counted. It is your responsibility to ensure you are the account holder when making the entry.

9. No purchase is necessary to enter this promotion however internet access is required. It is your responsibility to ensure you are the authorised account holder when making the entry.

10. The promotion is open to entries on 23.11.2020 until 12:00pm on 08.12.2020.

11. The winner will be selected by 11.12.2020. Entries will be shortlisted by the Promoter, its partners and chosen artist representatives from all valid entries received during the promotional period. The final winning design will be chosen by Promoter’s appointed celebrity judges.

12. At least one submission will be selected as the winning design for this competition. The British Red Cross however reserves the right to select more than one design to take forwards for production and/or other promotional activities if the entry level is high and will notify additional winners individually if they have been selected.

13. The Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value. In the event of unforeseen circumstances or circumstances outside its reasonable control, the Promoter reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this promotion without prior notice.

14. The winner will be notified by the 14.12.2020 via a direct message to the account from which the entry was made (as such it is up to the winner to ensure they are the account holder and have full access rights to the account from which the entry is submitted). They will be asked to confirm their contact details and send their design in high resolution (300 dpi preferred) to shoponline@redcross.org.uk. Winners must, therefore, like or follow the British Red Cross account in order to be contacted about prizes for this competition. If a winner fails to respond within two (2) working days of this notification, a re-selection will take place. If any winner declines a prize or fails to respond within the required period, they forfeit any right to the prize.

15. All entrants are solely responsible for providing the British Red Cross with their accurate and up-to-date contact details and the British Red Cross is not liable in any way for failure or inability to contact any entrant due to errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details that the entrant has provided.

16. Once the winning artist has sent across the final copy of their artwork in high resolution they will be asked to sign Promoter’s Terms and Conditions, confirming their consent for the British Red Cross to own the licence of their design and to receive their gifts. The winner will be officially announced by the 15.12.2020 via the British Red Cross’ Instagram page, where their account will be tagged in a post.

17. The British Red Cross will not be liable to any entrant for any loss or damage suffered or arising from any delays or failures in the postal service or other delivery methods used by the British Red Cross.

18. Except for the purpose of carrying out the promotion, contacting winners and sending out prizes the Promoter will not use entrants’ personal data without the express consent of the entrant. See here for our full privacy policy.

19. The British Red Cross reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the player has breached any of these terms and conditions.

20. You agree to be bound by the decisions of the Promoter, which are final in all matters relating to the promotion. No correspondence will be entered into in respect of the Promoter’s decisions. The British Red Cross reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

21. The laws of England and Wales will govern the interpretation and/or enforcement of these terms and conditions and the British Red Cross, and all players hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
