These four-and-a-half acres of formal and informal terraced gardens, lawns and paddocks all face south, with magnificent views of the fells.
There are many fir trees, rhododendrons and azaleas. The former tennis court is now a vegetable patch. There are also herbaceous borders and a Lakeland arts and crafts garden.

Directions:
Off the A66, west of Keswick. Take the junction marked ‘Portinscale Newlands Valley’. Go over the bridge and almost immediately turn right into the private road.
