Recycle for us

Raise money for the British Red Cross by doing your bit for the environment or de-cluttering your home.

You can help people in crisis by donating unwanted items to one of our charity shops or recycling ink cartridges and old mobile phones.

Mobile phone recycling

You can recycle any type of mobile phone, including damaged or broken phones. For each mobile phone you recycle, we will receive up to 50 per cent of its market value.

To recycle:

Recycling many phones

Collection boxes are available if you will be recycling 25 items or more (this includes both mobile phones and inkjet cartridges). This is ideal for an office, university or school collection.

  1. Order a collection box through our recycling website.
  2. When it is full, arrange a free collection online or by calling 0844 412 2811.

Inkjet cartridge recycling

We recycle Dell, Canon, Lexmark and Hewlett Packard inkjet cartridges. We do not recycle Epson inkjet cartridges.

For each inkjet cartridge you recycle, we will receive £1. Just one inkjet cartridge could help us provide life-saving treatment to three cholera patients or buy a resuscitation face shield to safely deliver vital first aid.

Recycling cartridges

  1. Log in to or register with our recycling website.
  2. Request a Freepost recycling envelope to send us your used inkjet cartridges.

Epson laser toner cartridges

Epson will donate £1 to us for every used laser toner cartridge that businesses send back to them for recycling.

Download a pre-paid postage label and return the empty cartridges free of charge, via the local postage service.

Businesses which own ten or more Epson laser printers can email getfundraising@redcross.org.uk to arrange free delivery of a collection box, which can hold up to 30 empty toner cartridges. Epson will pick it up and swap it for a new one when it is full.

Donate items to our charity shops

You might consider donating used clothes, books, music, homeware or toys. Every donation makes a difference – our charity shops have raised millions of pounds to support our work.
