Work experience for young people

There are work experience opportunities for you across the UK, wherever you are. These placements usually last for one week, and are for people aged 15-18.

Work experience gives you an opportunity to gain experience within different departments and an insight into the work of the British Red Cross.

Applying for work experience at our London head office;

There are one-week work experience placements at our head office in London during July and August 2016.

We will accept applications from 1 April 2016 until 5 June 2016

To apply for a placement at the London head office, please send a cover letter to, including;

  • the week you would like to do work experience (in July and August)
  • your preferred area of interest - for example, fundraising, international, HR, finance, IT, facilities, marketing or business development
  • why you would like to do work experience at the Red Cross
  • a CV, if you have one.
