Famine, drought and conflict have left millions of people needing food, water and healthcare.
The Red Cross has already acted to mitigate the impact of drought in the region, but we urgently need more funds to provide emergency relief, help people recover their livelihoods and improve communities’ resilience to future disasters.
The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is providing healthcare and therapeutic feeding programmes for people in famine-stricken Somalia. We are also working in Kenya, helping improve communities’ resilience to future disasters by supporting local agriculture.
