Our annual review 2020

For the past 150 years, we have mobilised the power of humanity so that individuals and communities can prepare for, respond to and recover from crises – both at home and around the world.

In 2020, our work helping people in crisis was more important than ever. From supporting vulnerable people during the Covid-19 pandemic, to delivering lifesaving aid after the Beirut explosion, we were there when people needed us.

This included:

  • helping 186,900 people affected by a UK emergency
  • responding to 22 new and ongoing international emergencies, as well as our Covid-19 response
  • supporting 29,900 people through our refugee services
  • supporting 82,200 people to live independently at home
  • 71,000 deliveries made by our community equipment service.
