Our annual review 2020
For the past 150 years, we have mobilised the power of humanity so that individuals and communities can prepare for, respond to and recover from crises – both at home and around the world.
In 2020, our work helping people in crisis was more important than ever. From supporting vulnerable people during the Covid-19 pandemic, to delivering lifesaving aid after the Beirut explosion, we were there when people needed us.
- helping 186,900 people affected by a UK emergency
- responding to 22 new and ongoing international emergencies, as well as our Covid-19 response
- supporting 29,900 people through our refugee services
- supporting 82,200 people to live independently at home
- 71,000 deliveries made by our community equipment service.

Our quality account
The annual quality account sets out the progress we've made in improving the quality of our services over the year. It outlines how we will continue to provide quality care and support across our services.
We run two pension schemes and we are the sponsoring employer for these schemes. They are separate organisations from the charity.
