Our friendly and experienced volunteers on the British Red Cross support line are here to help you cope with feelings of loneliness, mild depression, isolation and grief after bereavement.

We can also help you get medicine and food.

Meet Chris, one of our coronavirus support line volunteers.

The British Red Cross support line is available everyday, from 10am to 6pm. If you need support out of these hours, emergency 24 hour help is available.

Emergency help

Call The Samaritans for free on 116 123 or send an email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Call 999 in a life threatening or medical emergency. This is when you or someone is seriously ill or injured, or their life is at risk.

Translators

If you need a translator, call and say 'can I speak to a translator?'.

With the help of our volunteers, we now provide support in more than 200 languages including Farsi, Arabic, Persian, Kurdish Dari, Punjabi, Russian, Italian and Somali.
