Donate to charity

People in crisis need your help. Your charity donation will change lives in the UK and around the world.

We help people in crisis in the UK and around the world. Support us by donating to one of our specific emergency appeals or funds.

How does the British Red Cross spend your donation?

For every £1 you donate:

  • 74p is spent helping people in crisis. This includes emergency response, refugee support and our international work.
  • 13p is spent on support costs – running our organisation
  • 12p is spent on fundraising, excluding the costs of running our high street shops.

How we spend the money we receive.

A bar graph coloured red and grey, shows that 74p of every £1 went directly to people in crisis, 13p covered support costs and 12p was spent on fundraising.

Why donate to the Red Cross?

The British Red Cross is a humanitarian charity - here for people in crisis.

In the UK, our crisis response team support those affected by floods or fires and we’ll be there for those who need support after a stay in hospital.

Around the world, we get the right aid to the right place as quickly as possible. Our teams are on the ground in places like Gaza and Ukraine providing essentials like food, water, shelter and first aid. Your donation helps those in need, whoever and wherever they are.
