Prepare for emergencies

If you're prepared, anyone can deal with emergencies

No matter where we live, emergencies can happen, now more than ever. Because of the impact of climate change, the Met Office has forecast that we will have to deal with more heatwaves and floods in the years to come.

Our research suggests that a quarter of adults in the UK think they will be affected by a major emergency. However, seven in ten people admit that nobody in their household has done anything to prepare for a disaster.

Anyone can take a few small steps in advance that will make a big difference if the worst does happen. Find out more through the links on this page and read more about current emergencies.
