Fundraising ideas for kids to try

Whether you're after easy fundraising ideas for your youth group, here are some ideas to get you started:

Guess the number

Ask people for a donation to guess the number of items, It could be:

• sweets in a jar
• chocolates in box
• golf or ping pong balls in a bowl
• books in a stack
• balloons in car

Offer a prize for the closest guess, which could be the items themselves.

Name the...

Buy or get someone to donate a bear or another cute cuddly toy. Get people to suggest a name for the bear toy using the grid inthe Big Red Pack. Ask people to make a small donation per square they write their name and guess in it.

When you have sold all the squares, write all the names out on separate pieces of paper and pick the winner out of a hat and hand over the lovely prize.

Big Red Cross talent competition

Book a venue, like a school or village hall, and recruit acts to perform. Publicise the competition and ask for an entrance fee. Enjoy the show!

Face painting

Set up a face painting in your club and charge a small fee to have their faces painted. It could be themed, such as:

• animals
• superheroes
• characters from books
• floral

Get people to collect sponsorship. You can use the from in the Big Red Pack.

Fluorescent Friday

Everyone makes a small donation and wears bright fluorescent clothing. Make sure to take photos and get people's permission first.
