A wide range of specimen trees and flowering shrubs provide colour and scent all year. The formal garden has a circular theme and colour-coded borders. There is also an extensive vegetable and fruit garden in a potager style. Grassy paths lead to a cider apple orchard being replanted with native trees.
Hartwood House is 10 miles from Taunton and 5 miles from Williton. Clearly signed from the A358, it is situated in a quiet tree-lined lane, locally known as 'The Avenue'.
