Take on all 214 Wainwrights and help support those facing crisis in the UK and around the world. 

The iconic Wainwrights Challenge is your opportunity to explore the stunning fells of the Lake District while raising vital funds for the British Red Cross. 

Whether you're an experienced fell walker or simply love the outdoors, this challenge is designed to be flexible, accessible, and achievable.

Walk all 214 Wainwright Fells in the Lake District

Complete them your way – over 12 guided group outings, at your own pace, or a mixture of both. 

Our structured programme makes the challenge achievable by breaking it into manageable groups of fells. 

Kicking off with: 
A 2-day Wainwright Weekend Challenge on 10–11 October 2025, covering up to 35 peaks in the North-Western and Western Fells. 

This is followed by 11 monthly guided hikes, each tackling a different region of the Lake District to help you complete the full set of 214 peaks over a year. 

Can't make every outing? No problem – the programme repeats every year, so you can come back and tick off any missed peaks! 

Registration fees: 

£100 for 10-11 October with a fundraising target of £150 

£500 for the 12 outings with a fundraising target of £1500 

£50 for individual outings with a fundraising target of £150

Ways to take part

  • Join our guided group outings — 12 outings across the year, starting with a 2-day challenge in October. 
  • Complete the Wainwrights in your own time — at your own pace, on dates that suit you. 
  • Mix and match — join some group outings and complete others independently. 
  • Whichever route you take, you'll be part of an inspiring community helping people in crisis. 

 

What's Included

  • Expertly planned itineraries grouping fells by region.
  • Guided walks led by our external partner Orange John Mountain Guide including training advice, kit and accommodation advice.
  • Fundraising support from the British Red Cross team to help you with raising your sponsorship.
  • Receive a commemorative certificate when you complete all 214 Wainwrights.
  • Ongoing opportunities to join future groups to complete any missed peaks.
  • Specific Wainwrights and day itinerary will be emailed to participants upon booking.
