What to see at Odell Lodge.
Tucked quietly behind the trees, Odell Lodge is home to an extensive, well-established garden full of charm, character and not a few unexpected delights. From peaceful woodland paths to riverside views, this hidden gem invites visitors to slow down and explore at their own pace. The garden stretches all the way to the banks of the Great Ouse, with a mile-long walk that takes in water meadows, a secluded pond, a kitchen garden with chickens, and even a five-acre wood.
On your walk, keep an eye out for Ice Age Sid, the quirkily-shaped conifer, and his companion Merlin the topiary dragon. Or you can meander up the bank along the secret path for views over the river ’lake’ or even retreat to the peaceful forest triangle to lie back on the pine needles and simply take a moment to ‘forest bathe.’
Finally, make your way back to the wide lawns that stretch in front of the Lodge house itself to take in the spectacular views to the river and indulge in some delicious Afternoon Tea and home-made cakes. There’s something here for everyone to enjoy.
