The Here for Humanity garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show

This year, the British Red Cross is proud to exhibit its first garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. It will be showcased between 20-24 May 2025.

Our ‘Here for Humanity’ garden is a tribute to the millions of volunteers who step up to help in crisis and remembers Red Cross founder Henry Dunant.

The garden is designed by John Warland and Tom Bannister. They said, "we hope that when people spend time in the garden, they'll enjoy both the diversity and resilience of the alpines and feel a sense of hope that the British Red Cross is there for people in crisis - who ever, or wherever they are."

Plants featured, inspired by the international work of the Red Cross

The alpines featured in the Here for Humanity garden include plants from Afghanistan, Turkïye, Morocco and the UK, representing the Red Cross’s humanitarian work around the world.

The plants represent humanity’s ability to survive and thrive in even the most extreme conditions.

  • Pinus cembra – Swiss pine, representing the Red Cross’s origins in Switzerland
  • Saxifraga x urbium – London pride, highlighting the British Red Cross’s role in the UK since 1870
  • Leontopodium nivale subsp. alpinium – edelweiss, noting the Red Cross' origins in Switzerland
  • Tulipa var. – tulips, representing the work of the Red Cross in Turkïye after 2023’s devastating earthquake
  • Juniper thurifera – a species found in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, where our teams rapidly responded to an earthquake in 2023.

Celebrate with exclusive collections inspired by our garden and curated by fashion icons

To celebrate our Here for Humanity garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025, we’ve curated a series of exclusive products and pre-loved fashion collections.

Leading names from the sustainable fashion world have curated pre-loved collections for the Red Cross online store, to give inspiration for outfits to wear to the flower show.

Fashion designer and TV presenter Patrick Grant, stylist and thrifting champion Bay Garnett and plus-size model Felicity Hayward have rummaged through our stocks of pre-loved gems to select items for an RHS Chelsea Flower Show edit.

We're also thrilled to have collaborated with artist Sophie Tea, who has designed an exclusive tote, the Sophie Tea Tote.

Explore the collections alongside our RHS Chelsea Flower Show collection and shop with purpose. Every purchase helps us be there for people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.
