Invite a Red Cross speaker to your school or community group
Inspire your students or community with stories of humanity, resilience, and hope.
What is a Red Cross speaker?
Our trained volunteer speakers deliver engaging talks that:
- Explain the vital role of the British Red Cross in emergencies and everyday life.
- Share real stories of people we’ve helped and the difference we make.
- Highlight ways your group can get involved and support our humanitarian mission.
Talks can be tailored for schools, youth groups, clubs, and community organisations, making them perfect for assemblies, lessons, or special events.
It’s free to book a speaker. Talks typically last 30 to 60 minutes.

Be inspired by stories made possible by our supporters
Supported by the British Red Cross, the Ukrainian Red Cross Home Care programme supports people like Tamara, who can no longer walk and lives alone outside Kyiv.
Her social helper, Svitlana, visits almost every day to cook, clean, bring groceries and medicine, and offer comfort during the ongoing conflict. “Without her, it would be terrible… she also supports me emotionally,” Tamara says.
Their bond shows how vital this care is for people who might otherwise face isolation.
