Steps to write your will and leave a gift
Follow these steps to get started writing a will and leaving a gift to charity.
Step 1: Choose how to write your will for free
Decide between a face-to-face meeting with a solicitor or writing your will online with support.
Step 2: Prepare to write your will
Work out what you own, decide who to provide for and appoint an executor to carry out your wishes.
Step 3: Add the gift to your will

Free will writing options
Through our partnerships with the National Free Wills Network and MyIntent, you can choose to write or update your will for free, either online or in person with a solicitor.
Whichever you choose, you’ll be supported throughout the will writing process with the option to include a gift to the British Red Cross.
