What is the 2.6 Challenge?
On Sunday 26th April the 40th anniversary London Marathon, the biggest event in the fundraising calendar, should be taking place. This would have raised thousands of pounds in vital funds for the British Red Cross and charities across the country. In it's places the 2.6 challenge has been launched!
How does it work?
No need to be a marathon runner to take part – this is a challenge for all ages and abilities! Just get thinking of an activity based around the numbers 26 or 2.6 and complete it on or from Sunday April 26.
It could be something as simple as running 2.6 miles, 26 minutes of yoga, or juggling for 26 minutes - or 2.6 minutes!
And don’t worry if you’re not able to get out your house or flat for now. We’re not looking for superheroes - we’re looking for Home Heroes.
Why the British Red Cross?
The British Red Cross plays a vital role in emergency response, and the ongoing, ever-changing situation concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is no exception.
In times of crisis, we’re here to help people. We’re local and we’re global and we’ve been doing this for 150 years. Our network of incredible staff and volunteers means we are uniquely placed to reach people in fearful, uncertain times.
But we can't do it without your support!
