The level of need is higher than ever
Since we spoke to Dev, the situation has evolved.
As India continues to struggle with the virus, reporting sky high death rates, the second wave is now sweeping across much of South Asia too.
Countries such as Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and beyond are really struggling, and the level of need across the world is now higher than ever.
Richard Blewitt, Executive Director of International at the British Red Cross said:“We’ve been overwhelmed by the public’s generosity in response to our appeal so far.
“People are falling into extremely vulnerable situations around the world, with many struggling to access medical care, food, and water, as well as vital Covid-19 prevention items, like masks and hand sanitiser.
“Now, we must pull together to make sure no one is left behind, no matter where they are.”
All money raised from the British Red Cross’s Global Coronavirus Appeal will help reach people who are most at risk from this frightening surge of Covid-19. Please give if you can.
